Not even a noble cause can negate that Naofumi is helping evil people get rich off of selling sentient beings as property, and it puts an intensely sour note on Naofumi's otherwise heroic quest. He did not stage a breakout and steal those captive demi-humans he paid good money for them all, supporting the world's cruelest industry even more than he did in Season 1. The demi-humans thanked Naofumi for this second chance at life, but this still didn't change the fact that Naofumi financially supported the slave trade once again. He even took part in a deadly combat tournament to raise enough funds to buy the last few demi-human slaves, and he got the job done. Naofumi does have good intentions in Season 3, as he aims to buy back the freedom of all enslaved demi-humans so he can restore Lurolona village's population to what it once was.
